Honokohau was awarded to Moses Kekuaiwa by Land Commission Award No 7714B:3 dated June 19, 1852. This award was given with allodial title. The metes and bounds of this award are recited in the LCA and emcompasses 6680 acres.
MLP claims that it received this parcel from Ruth Keelikolani. However, Keelikolani did not own this land. It is imporant to note that anyone familiar with Hawaiian land history will tell you that Princess Ruth was notrious for creating and participating in questionable land transfers.
Since she did not own this land the transaction is invalid.
